In honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21, Beaches Sandbox has partnered with HOPES Indigenous Training Network for a day of free activities for all ages.
Spend time with traditional Indigenous teacher and philosopher, Cat Criger. Explore Indigenous teachings, storytelling, and participate in an open Q&A.
Participants are also invited to enjoy complimentary strawberry drink, scones and maple butter from Catering by Candace (while supplies last).
Beaches Sandbox is an accessible facility, all are welcome!

Cat Criger, Elder
Cat Criger is an Indigenous Traditional Teacher, Knowledge Keeper and Philosopher. He is from the Cayuga Nation, Turtle Clan, as well as having German and English ancestry.
Cat was taught traditional ceremonies, teachings, circles, counselling, healing and plant medicines, Indigenous philosophies and pedagogies by an Anishnawbe Elder and uses these gifts to help all people. Cat has worked as an Elder and advisor for many organizations and is retired from the University of Toronto, He remains active as a guest speaker, lecturer and consultant in curriculum development, cultural competency and Indigenous perspectives of wellness.

Beaches Sandbox offers a wide variety of high-quality programming. Our goal is for everyone to be able to participate in these programs, regardless of their financial status. The Beaches Sandbox Financial Assistance Program is put in place to allow those who otherwise could not afford to participate, access to all programs offered at the centre.
