Drop-In

Join Ray for a traditional cooking demonstration where you'll learn about Indigenous foods and cooking practices. We'll share how different ingredients are prepared and the cultural teachings connected to them. This is a chance to learn, ask questions, and experience traditional food in a welcoming setting. Come together through food, stories, and community.

Ray Misquadis

Ray Misquadis is of Ojibway descent, with Shawanaga First Nation as his home territory. He is a member of the Wolf Clan and carries a spirit name that is currently being translated into Anishinaabemowin. Deeply connected to his culture and community, Ray embraces the teachings and values passed down through generations.

For more than 25 years, Ray has worked within Toronto's Indigenous and broader community sectors as a youth worker, coordinator, outreach worker, and case manager. He currently serves as a Case Manager at Parkdale Queen West Community Health Centre, where he supports individuals in overcoming barriers and achieving their personal goals.

In addition to his professional work, Ray is actively involved in cultural practices and wellness initiatives. He contributes through fire keeping, facilitating self-care and healing through sweat lodges and smudging ceremonies, and sharing cultural knowledge with others. Ray also has a passion for cooking and enjoys bringing people together through food and community.
