Join us for an interactive journey through Indigenous culture, traditions, and teachings. Participants will explore Indigenous history, storytelling, cultural practices, and connections to the land while engaging in meaningful discussions and hands-on learning experiences.

Tyrone Maud, Facilitator

Tyrone Maud is a dedicated Oshki gkitchuidsak Child & Youth Counselor at Anishnawbe Health Toronto, dedicated to improving, supporting and promoting the health, wellbeing and healing of indigenous people in spirit, mind, emotion and body in a culturally sound way.

Tyrone has a tremendous amount of lived experience and knowledge in the indigenous culture through his upbringing as a kid and active way of living, trained and worked alongside by traditional healers/medicine men & woman, elders, knowledge keepers from all over Canada in extensive and numerous ceremonies on the land. He applies this knowledge and wisdom to help the vouth and younger generation with experience in wellness initiatives, community development and youth engagement, he works to create opportunities that strengthen resilience, leadership, mentorship and cultural connection. Tyrone is passionate about integrating traditional teachings with modern approaches to support, spiritual, emotional, mental, and the physical wellbeing of young people.

This is a free event. If you have registered but are unable to attend, please let us know and we will open your spot to someone else. 

Activities For All!

Beaches Sandbox offers a wide variety of high-quality programming. Our goal is for everyone to be able to participate in these programs, regardless of their financial status. The Beaches Sandbox Financial Assistance Program is put in place to allow those who otherwise could not afford to participate, access to all programs offered at the centre.
